Hi Dee,

1/4·2/3 = 2/12 = 1/6

2/5·11/3 = 22/15

5/30 + 44/30 = 49/30 = 1 + 19/30

James :-)

What are you doing???
First, factor 1/3 out of each addend...........
1/3 (2*1/4 + 11 * 2/5)
Next, factor 2 of of each addend
2/3 (1/4 + 11/5)
Now solve the addition, LCD=20
2/3 ([5+44]/20) = 2 * 49 / (3*20)= 49/30 = 1+19/30

¼*2/3+2/5*11/3
Solve for each
¼*2/3=2/12
2/5*11/3=22/15
Thus add both 2/12+22/15= (10+44)/60
Ans 54/60

So it becomes 27/30

(1/4)*(2/3)=1/6
(2/5)*(11/3)=22/15
therefore 1/4*2/3+2/5*11/3= (5/30)+(44/30)
=49/30
