on my craftsman riding mower, now it won`t crank. what switches or wiring might i have effected to create this problem, and how do i locate the source of my problem?

Is the belt back in the correct path? Its not binding on anything? Its possible when you tinkered with the idler pulley, the deck engagement sensor ( usually up underneath the tractor) couldve gotten out of wack. When you try and start the tractor- is the deck in the non running position? Double check everything underneath the tractor.

I had this happen recently and found I had a blown fuse near the selenoid.
