Well time travel would explain a lot of UFOs. The way they seem to fade in and out, the way they see to be around a lot of historical events. Maybe even abductions. Has anyone ever test the abducted for alien date rape drugs!?!

Timeshifting is a dangerous and very complex topic implications are many not just from the past but the future too...

You would need to somehow make a hole in the fabric of time travel through it without failure or some...unpleasantness then find you're way back. Even then things could go horribly wrong!

It could well be possible but not for a very very long time.

Hey, who knows. If someone told me 25 years ago when I was playing pong, that someday video games would be 3D virtual enviroments that you could walk around in, and they would be available to Kids for around $125, I would have said they were crazy. a) no kid will have $125, b) a computer of that power would take up an entire room in the house.

There are smarter and smarter people building on the shoulders of geniuses.
Right now its science fiction, but I would not surprise me at all if the next 50 years give us time machines.

Time travel not only exists today, but there are also 2 types of it - dimensional and interdimensional. Dimensional time travel is physical travel into the past, only as far back as one's own timeline goes and only as far forward as the present and nonphysical travel into the future, whereas interdimensional time travel is physical time travel into both the past and the future (i.e. John Titor). Time travelers themselves are very rare and most commonly, the time travelers are the dimensional kind, with very few of them being of the interdimensional kind.
Concerning those 2 articles about time travel, on account of my protecting how exactly dimensional time travel is accomplished, I can't say exactly how it's done, but I will say that in terms of all of these scientists and researchers and their theories about this matter, while they DO make educated guesses, NONE of them have even come CLOSE to how exactly time travel is actually accomplished.

Thank you for posting the links. I'm not sure I understand your question about time travel be categorized as mythology.
I did find in interesting that some people apparently believe that it should be categorized as science fiction because it's not currently possible but is possible in theory. I think Stephen Hawking and other theoretical physicist would be fascinated to know that their work is only science fiction.

This is nothing more than theoretical (i.e. just in the idea stage and totally impractical) physics. That's not to say that we will never be able to travel through time. I hate to argue from ignorance, but I fail to see the mechanics or practical use of such a device. However, I can see the limitations and the problems it would create.

Yeah - I read those articles, too...

Theorerically... Time travel "should" only be achievable into the future (one-way) - according to Einstein anyway....

Here's my feeling: If time travel into the PAST were possible, wouldn't we have met someone from the future by now?

The current udnerstanding of physics prohibits this. The onyl possilbe forms of time machine, which may or may not work, only permit timetravel back to when the device was made, not before (which explains why we are not being visited by people from the future).

I don't think it can be true at all. and I don't think it would happen either. if you think about it if people could travel back into the past they would like to change it. there are a lot of things that happened in history that people would like to change. and that wouldn't be a very good thing either. what if it did happened and people used it to go back into time and change things that happened in the past it would changed the future and it might either make it better or worse who knows. I don't think they should even be thinking about doing it at all. but right now it sounds like it's only a theory.

If time travel was likely, here's a Word of Warning, don't mess with the past. Try me, if you do mess with the past, it's going to look like an episode of the Simpsons
