Duo Core is the best and newest, and because of that its more costly too. Expect to pay some $300 just bcause it has a Duo Core Processor. This determines the speed. It is said that its like having two computers because this processor masters the multitasking technique. But AMD is getting out of style for now and probably will come out with some new impriovements but right now it gets hot especially in notebooks.

they are about the same... but here is some advice.. do your research into what laptop to get.. always check out all the manufacturers after sales service, get all their support telephone numbers and give them a call... just to see how long it takes you to get through... if it takes forever, give that brand a pass.
next don't get windows vista that goes for any version. there are lots of problems with it, if you want vista wait until service pack 1 comes out some time next year,,
depending on which brand of laptop you buy, you could have Linux installed if you ask for it. Linux out shines Vista Ultimate. so another bit of advice is check out Linux operating system it work just like windows, point and click,
Linux is far more Superior, windows vista ultimate is not in the same class, it is more secure, faster, you can run windows under linux should you wish to do so,
Do your research into linux you will find all the big companies use linux for their business servers and workstations. the internet runs off Linux, Mobile phone companies use linux, NASA space station uses Linux, it is going to be use to program the next space flight to Mars,
IBM and Intel use Linux, so you see it is not an unknown quantity, Linux is free to download with all the software you will ever need also FREE
check it out on Youtube, com type in the search bar .... linux ... then watch all the videos on linux, you will see what I mean
