It's really unprofessional behaviour but if you call anyone then they always act as if you're inferior. Everything is just so rhetorical in conversation. And they seem to cut you off before you do.
How can I learn to be just as nasty as everyone else who is mean on the phone?

It's called a call center. The people working their are more worried about the amount of time per call and Big Brother than they are of you. TIP: When calling a call center ALWAYS as to speak to someone higher up or a manager. They will do it for 2 reasons. 1. They are required to transfer the call. 2. It shortings their call time.

I have caller ID. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. If it's that important, they'll leave a message.
If I act sweet on the phone, people usually respond well/ Although there are some people who are jackasses. Just remember, happy people don't act like that. And don't sink to their level.
I have emailed the CEO on occasion. They are VERY interested in the level of employee service, especially when a customer has a lot of choices. Management should be made aware when an employee is abusive to a customer.
I know, I'm a *****. Those people probably make peanuts. But that's not my fault. And there are some who are extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. If I get really good service from someone on the phone I will email the appropriate manager/officer as well.

From my experience of working in a call center for 2 & a half yrs..... seems like when my co-workers are really very busy and/or been working on the phones for a few hours they get tired and irritable. Personally, I tried my best when I was at that job. I was aware that its not the caller's fault for the high call volume. OR The caller is just frustrated because they dont understand what is going on with whatever problem they have.

Just remember these people you are mentioning are
doing their routine work. All they do is attend to phone
calls the whole day. I am sure they are so fed up with
listening to strange questions that they have no
politeness any more. I pressure they have no possibility
to find another job due to whatsoever reasons and
therefore they show their frustrations on the phone.
I wont be surprised that these same persons are
completely different in their private lives. I am not
sure but I am only guessing.

Most conversations are being recorded for better customer service..... I find that in a lot of cases if I ask for they're name or Id# before I start the conversation, they are nice. Also, if you just call them out, in a nice way, just say "is there any reason why you chose to get smart with me" it will shock them and they will apologize and change.
Keep in mind not everyone cares, so you will get some that just simply are who they are and that's rude..... just ignore them!!

There's no need to be rude. People are nasty on the phone because they can't see you and when they disconnect the conversation is over. The truth is they don't have the guts to express themselves to people in person so they take out their agressions on the world of customer service:(

Who are you talking to on the phone? You know it really isn't good for you to go out of your way to be nasty, why, if you dislike them so much, would you want to be like them? Best thing to do is try to ignore folks like that, they aren't worth your energy.

easy way for us to fix this, just ask to speak to the directors and voice what has just happened to you. also a certified letter to the director, ceo and president of the company never hurts either!

you shouldn't be as nasty as they!
KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS.
Speak sweetly, for one day you may have to eat your words.
they were clearly raised without the manners. why stoop to their level simply because they lack the proper social graces that the rest of the natural world appears to contain?

Just keep killing them with kindness. Being nasty will not make you feel better. Or...when in doubt...use sarcasm.
