I just need a small bottle for an experiment, so the cheaper the better.

I think you are looking for pure (solid) iodine not a solution for cuts. They sometimes have chemicals like this at pharmacies, but they are very reluctant to sell chemicals to individuals because people do stupid things and get hurt and then go looking for somebody to sue. If you know someone who works at a lab, they might be able to procure a small amount for you.

Also, your local supermarket probably
carries iodine.

you can get at wal-mart. or drug store. where they keep all the stuff for scrapes and cuts band-aids ect.. a small bottle only cost about .99-$1.99.
