I'm 46.....I take Lexapro for depression 15mg.
My body aches all the time. I feel like I have the flu all the time.
I don't want to go outside.
I feel that my life is over because I'm loosing my looks.
Can menopause make a woman crazy.
Can it make my body ache like crazy?
It also feel hormonal because I have surges of feeling to my breasts and my ovaries seem to hurt sometimes.
It is just awful
I can't go on like this.
All I want to do is sleep. I can't work. I get these muscle aches...It's too much.

I had a full check up.....they say my hormones are in normal range.

I see a psychiatrist and a counselor....

Any suggestions please......
Thanks Dianne

You need to be monitored very carefully for the drug you are on. It is an SSRI and can have side effects that you just cannot tolerate.
My opinion is that you write
down all these adverse symptoms--when they occur--
the severity, etc. and talk this
over with your psychiatrist.
You also need a clear
diagnosis that this drug is
needed. You may be into
pre-menopause when hormones go crazy. If your
blood test shows normal tho, that probably isn't the problem. You could ask for
lo dose estrogen patch and see if that helps. This is only
a temporary fix
Maybe you need to see a
Gynecologist and get a good
exam.

These could all be symptoms of menapause. You said you are seeing a psychiatrist. You sound quite depressed and hopeless. Depression can manifest in physical symptoms. It did with me. I couldn't get out of bed because the muscle aches and pains were so bad, I thought there was something physically wrong with me. But it was postpartum depression and medication helped. Alot of times people have to try different antidepressants before they find one that works. Did your doctor do any lab tests to check your thyroid function? That might be another reason for these symptoms. I really hope you feel better and find out what is causing this. This is no way for you to live. Don't stop searching until you and your doctor figure this out. Good luck.

Talk to your Dr.

The symptoms you describe could be menopausal, but your hormone levels are ok.

They could also be part of your depression, perhaps your dosage is wrong or this isn't the correct drug for you.

They could also be unusual side effects of Lexapro, check out page 4 of the attached link to a PDF document.
