Be aware that "morning after pills" can act as abortion pills sometimes when breakthrough ovulation occurs and you conceive.

The high dosage of hormones in the pill will change the lining of your uterus making it inhospitable to the newly fertilized embryo, thus killing the tiny human life.

Since you are over 18, presuming you are in the U.S., you should be able to get Plan B at your pharmacy without a prescription. You will need to provide proof of your age (driver's license, passport, or similar ID). You simply go up to the pharmacy counter and request them; you must get them at a pharmacy at which there is a registered pharmacist on duty (which is just about any pharmacy that's open!). You can also get them online via Drugstore.com (overnight shipping).

If you want to go on regular birth control pills, then you'll need a prescription, of course.

Good luck.

In some states you do not need a prescription. Call your local pharmacy and ask about the morning after pill or Plan B.

Otherwise, if you need a prescription, you can wait until morning. You can take these emergency contraceptives up to 48-72 hours after you had sex.
