maybe this will help. go to control panel, then go to performance and maintaince. after this click on administrative tools, then computer management. then look for device manager. in there look for the cd drive. if you see it right click it and update driver. in case you dont see it it means that the cd drive is not install at meaning that the drive is no longer working or you unistall it by mistake.

CD Drives are cheap. Just buy a new one.
If you can't do that, go to www.driverguide.com and see if you can find the drivers there.

Go to walmart. Buy a external use drive. Install the drivers. Return the item.

Hi. If it's a Dell try + E. Should reset to defaults. Do this from the BIOS.

download the drivers off the internet from the maker

try to buy another optical drive if it is tooo old enough. or use lens cleaner but it is not recommended.
