I had a sebaceous cyst in May of 2006. It was extremely painful. After it went away, I had another appear in July, and then in October of 2006. When these finally drained, taken care of in the doctor's office, I had another appear in December which had to be surgically drained. After the reappearance of another in February, each more painful than the last, I had to have this one surgically removed, and then a permanent opening made with a surgical incision to allow this spot to permanently drain.

I have not had another cyst since this operation. Each time I developed a new cyst, I feared the pain, because it was incredible: like nothing I had ever felt before, or believe that I would feel again. As a matter of fact the doctor said that after dealing with this, childbirth in the future would be a cakewalk in comparison. Now that I have gone almost 6 1/2 months without another reoccurence, you would think that I wouldn't fear having another cyst--that, by now, I would have recovered both physically AND emotionally, and not be so scared.

But after feeling pain like that, and dealing with the issue, and the insecurities that followed, you can understand how I would be afraid to have it happen again. It's something that is always sitting right there, in the back of my mind, like a rain cloud hanging over my head. After all, that is what fear is. Fear is a shadow that follows you constantly wherever you go.

I'm afraid of rabid skunks. No really. I've had the same nightmare of being attacked by a rabid skunk 8 times. It bites through my hand and sprays me over and over as I try desperately to get it off. For some reason I can never find a weapon in these nightmares, and bashing the skunk against the wall or a rock does nothing.

I've had many dreams where I was killed, and that doesn't scare me at all anymore, but I was so terrified of running into a rabid skunk up in the mountains that I bought a .357 magnum pistol to accompany me when I go hiking. And strangely enough I haven't had the dream since. No more startling at shadows!! Hooray!

Yes I have been afraid of things, like anyone else.
Not being able to repay this great person in my life,
Being a burden to people if I became bed ridden, losing my sight, not being able to walk.
Death, failure, disappointing my people, not finding love,
being hated, being alone, my parents death.
Antcipate being afraid?, Yes for some of the same reasons, mostly not being able to repay this person in my life, or make up for a lot of things
Not afraid of death, because I believe I saw how it's going to happen, I am not afraid any more, except for that one thing,
to repay someone. and my fear that I won't be able to do it.

Though not exactly 'afraid', a person should be most concerned about, anxious, not to lose one's self-awareness. Without it, nothing else would matter, and there would be nothing to be afraid of anymore!

Fear is the product of thinking. Stop think and fear evaporates. It's a very simple formula. We can literally scare ourselves to death.
