Well, the way that I get by a bad attitude about the rude and stupid people is to imagine how they got that way. I think about how they could really help themselves if they tried, but maybe they don't know how or that they don't even realize what an annoying human being they're being.
Essentially, I pity them. It makes me feel glad I'm not like them, I feel proud that I work at bettering myself, and all of a sudden I feel benevolent and kind toward everyone.
It works for me even though a lot of people don't agree with my feeling sorry for jerks.
I have a suspicion, because you asked this question, that you rarely suffer from a bad attitude.

Truth is most people are so absorbed in their immediate problems that they don`t consider larger scopes of perspective. I have learned to think of them as children. This serves to improve my attitude towards the world significantly without putting other people down and thinking I am in any way superior. They are trying the best they know how. They are not less intelligent they simply don`t have your good fortune of a wider experience. As for the rude thing well yeah modern society is a lot less polite than it was even twenty years ago. Sad but it does not seem it will improve any time soon. You can only hope to lead by example. You will be surprised how many people genuinely appreciate you as a person when you do this. It`s like you gave them back something they lost and found precious. This won`t accomplish much on the grand scale but I find the shock and smiles in their eyes far more entertaining than anything on TV lately. Never condemn them for their being who they are rather give a sigh and shake your head. We are sorely out numbered for now. They will get there in their own time.

There is not any need to love and respect every single person. Many people are overwhelmed by their love of evil. One must simply accept the fact that a great many number of people out there suck. And more than that, the people who such the most make the most noise, so as to make us think there are more out there than there really is. The ones you feel are being rude and crass on purpose probably genuinely are.

the key to doing that is loving and respecting yourself first. If you love yoursefl you would treat others the way you would want to be treated. You also have to try to see things from others people point of view. When I see someone who has a bad attitude, I think maybe they ar having a bad day, a bad week, a bad month. Maybe they lost their job, a family member just died, they found out their spouse is cheating, etc. (something that we all have) I just give them their space and ignore them, somthing I would want if I'm having a bad day.
