Don't let people tell you what to believe. You need to figure out how you believe God feels on the matter, and then you have to figure out whether what you are interested in falls into that category of forbidance. The use of the term "witchcraft" in the Bible is only 500 years old, but there ARE rules against various specific types of magic use. Whether those are eternal rules of the Lord or simply the rules of the culture that wrote the Bible is a conclusion you have to form.

If you look into it it won't hurt anything. YOU have to be the judge of whether it is right for you or not. Witchcraft won't hurt you, but you need to research to see if it's right for you. No harm ever came from obtaining knowledge before making a decision. If you try to understand it, your god won't be angry. You are just educating yourself and if this was wrong, Christians wouldn't even go to school. Research it. You'll be fine.

Wicca has nothing to do with Christianity. It is not evil or with the devil as some people seem to think. Why are you even considering looking into it if you are happy with your religion?

PS) Witchcraft has nothing to do with intentional deception. Witchcraft is connected to the religion of Wicca. Wicca means: A polytheistic Neo-Pagan nature religion inspired by various pre-Christian western European beliefs, whose central deity is a mother goddess and which includes the use of herbal magic and benign witchcraft.

Reading about it and learning about it is not going against your god. We watch movies where people get killed, we read books where people get killed. Killing is against your god, but reading about it does not make you a killer, does it? I was raised in a Catholic family, but have always had an interest in other faiths. I am still catholic, I still go to church, am yet to shoot into flames when I walk into a church... as one person told me I would when they found a book in my car with the word "witchcraft" on it. Your god, and the wiccan gods, don't have anything to do with each other. You have to explore and make your own decisions, and a faith is not something you draw out of a hat... you will know what is right for you when you find it. Good luck!

Witchcraft is nothing to be afraid of. People who practice witchcraft use the forces of nature (not supernatural) to achieve desired results. We are generally nice, peace loving people who will not put you down for what you believe. All we ask is for the same respect that we give you.
Now for the gist of the matter, FOLLOW YOUR HEART! If you fully believe in and follow Jesus than why are you looking into witchcraft at all? There is nothing wrong with being Christian and there is nothing wrong with associating with people who practice witchcraft. Ask them and they will probably be very open with you about their beliefs. According to your bible it does go against God, but then so does just about everything. But on the other hand we also tend to be very spiritual people but our "god" is Mother Nature.

ok.... this is the mythology and folklore section... you know, fantasy? do you mean that you are afraid that something 'made up' could offend g-d?
or, perhaps, did you post in this section, by mistake, and really meant to post in the religion and spirituality section?

g-d has been around for a very long time. and he's seen it all. there is nothing which could 'shock' him, and he's a big boy, now, and doesn't need anyone to protect him, in any way.
when you say you don't know what to expect from witchcraft, what do you mean? who is telling you to 'look into it'? and in what manner? your question is really a non-question, and seems to be a bit hysterical in nature.
if you are thinking about something similar to the 'witches' in macbeth, chanting and throwing toads into a cauldron, and making incantations to cause mysterious 'things' to happen - it's just fiction.
if you mean wicca, the religion which is goddess based, nature related; then it's something which isn't harmful, it's just not christian (not ANTI-christian, just NON-christian [and there IS a difference between the two ideas])
to tell the truth, it's probably better for you to not pursue any studies further than the end of your nose, since you sound like someone who can't distinguish fact from fiction for themselves, and the effort could prove exhausting.

OK, that depends. Are you going to PRACTICE witchcraft, or just RESEARCH it?

God is not offended at all by sincere research. He has given us the mental faculties to question and research to find answers. besides, He is a big guy and can take care of himself. He does not get his feelings hurt as easily as people do.

But, if you are going to PRACTICE it, then your definition of "God" would influence whether He would be offended or not.

Why not hit me up off line if you are interested and I can go into more detail.

It goes against your god.Alot of things involved in witchcraft are listed as abominations in the old test......However if you read first and take opinions second, when you do witchcraft the way your supposed to...here's a surprise.....you use archangels as protectors,4 of them to be exact. The short list they act as buffers,so read first and good luck..

Hi! The first thing that you have to understand is that witchcracft (mainy knon as dark/black magic) is definitely not good, which means that it is definitely against God. It's very simple: anything that can harm others is against God. Now, there are other things and methods known as white magic that are not destructive in any way. These things include some kind of aid to your economy or maybe love life. I strongly believe that since this is not hurting anyone then it should not be considered bad.
I hope that helped and remember :anything that you do WILL come back.
