if i install the java jdk 5.0 update 10 should i install also the jre? which version? and does the jdk 5.0 update 12 work on eclipse 3.2? tnx

Yes, as a rule, you should update runtimes any time you update your SDKs.

I don't see why it wouldn't; the namespaces haven't changed.

JDK includes a JRE (see the "jre" subdirectory under wherever you installed the JDK)... so you don't need to install it again with a separate download. You'd just be installing a duplicate of something you already have.

We're using Eclipse 3.2 with JDK5. I think I have update 11 at the moment, but it works without issue.
