I make it a habit of checking to make sure the seat is down before I sit. Its easy enough to do. I raised 4 boys, so I got used to doing that. If you love someone enough, then little things like a seat up won't change a thing.

Men can only see one thing at night, and that is pu*sy...
So if you put hair on the toilet seat he wont have to pull it up...
Problem solved he get's what he wants, and you get the seat down so you don't fall in...

Right after my husband and I got married, I went into the washroom,
and promptly fell into the toilet. Needless to say I was ticked. So I made
a joke out of it and wrapped the lid in nice paper and a bow. Then I put
a quarter on the lid and waited for his reaction. He laughed himself silly.
It took a few times but we got it right. Why I wrapped the lid?? He said
you don't put the lid up for me. We have had a lot of laughs about that.

We now have his and hers washrooms. Hooray!!

I raised 3 sons, so I gave up on that battle long ago. I'd much rather feel for the seat in the dark than sit on a puddle!

When he is in the shower I flush the toilet. When he screams, I laugh and say " It sounds like someone left the seat up again!"

my husband does the same thing and the worse part is the only time that he does it is in the middle of the night no matter how many times I ask him to put it down (for the kids) the only time he puts it down is during the day. Now my daughter is fussing about it to so maybe he will learn!!!

You turn the light on and look first. After a while it just becomes second nature to look. I even catch myself checking to see if the seat is down in women's public restrooms.

One thing in Learning Theory is to teach the person & reinforce behavior at the time the event happens, so:
1) as soon as he uses the restroom, remind him, as he leaves the room, and
2) any time you find it up, interrupt whatever he's doing, take him over to the toilet, have him fix it & say, "Thanks!" with a big smile & a kiss. Eventually, he'll remember.

Keep the lid & top down always. If he sees it, maybe he'll remember.

If not, something of his could accidentally fall in. He learn then!
