I'd love to go see this movie, but my hubby hasn't seen the first two. Do they give a brief overview of what happened in the first two movies in the Ultimatum? Do you think it would be easy for someone who never saw the first two to understand? I saw the other two movies. Please advise. Thanks!

I don't mean to make my hubby sound like an idiot, you know there are some movies that are confusing when you don't see the earlier ones. :)

I have no problem dropping the $8 to rent the first two movies...I just can't find them in the video store. :( I guess I'll start calling around to some other stores.

they show some quick flashbacks, but i think it's important for him to see the first two so he can fully understand the movie.

I find it very difficult to believe you can't find them at the video store - unless they are always rented when you look. Both the first two were very good movies - with the first being close to great. Have you tried Netflix or Blockbuster on-line?

As for The Bourne Ultimatum. No, there is no recap. The movie picks up right where Supremacy ended. There are some things that are explained through flashbacks, but never really a recap. That being said, I think Ultimatum would stand up pretty well on it's own even without having seen the first two movies. I just think it makes the movie better if you already know Jason Bourne and what he's been through.

Normally I would say ok go and see it, but this last movies literally overlaps with the previous one, and there are alot of references to the first one as well. Take an evening drop about 8$ and catch him up. If you want a REALLY good story read the books they provide a much more in depth story.

I don't think the third movie would be easy to understand without seeing the first two i think you would be lost. It had been awhile since my girlfriend saw the Bourne Supremacy and she was a little lost because she forgot somethings, so definitely not.

There are informative flashbacks and he would like to movie but to fully appreciate it, he will be best served by seeing the first 2 of the trilogy

Gotta watch the first 2. It fills the gap. Why are people chasing him and how he got his sources
