Hi, I am 6w0d as of today. I have had 3 miscarriages, two healthy babies. On Friday, I went for a beta level, and then a comparitive one on Monday following. My levels on Friday were 750, my levels on Monday were 1150. They did not double, and now I am concerned. Does anyone have experience with this? Should I be highly concerned that I am miscarrying? My progesterone was also low, although I did not think to ask how low. My appointment is tomorrow, just hoping someone can tell me something to help me sleep better.

Try not to worry - these tests cause more anxiety than I think new mothers should endure. It's not a perfect science anyway because not every woman's HcG levels fit a perfect pattern.

Since they are rising, just take that as a good sign and rest easy unless you hear otherwise.

All the best!

I have been where you are 3 times and now pregnant again 5wks 2 days!! I have had 2 miscarriages and 2 healthy babies!! One is 6 years and the other is 2 years!! I had the miscarriages in between them!! I had to be put on a medicine called Prometrium for the 1st 12 weeks of my pregnancy with my 2 year old because my levels would not go up and he is healthy!! I am also taking it this time too, but just as security for me because my levels have been fine!! Talk to your doc about it and see what they think!! If i did not take this with my 2 year old he would not be here today!! Best of luck to you!! If you would like to talk more e-mail me!!

Sometimes I really wish physicians would not tell patients their beta levels, because it often causes a lot of undue stress and worry.

HCG levels in determining pregnancy status is not an exact science. Not every pregnancy will exactly double every 48-72 hours. The fact that it rose quite substantially is *usually* a good indicator that things are ok.

Make sure you ask your doctor more about it tomorrow - ask them how much stock they place in the reliability of the whole "doubling" issue. I am sure you will be reassured.

Take care, and good luck!

Your levels are increasing and that is a good sign. When you are miscarrying, your levels decrease. You should be OK. Get some rest.
