I have a Frigidaire dryer about 7 YO it has started to allow clothes to get stuck between the drum and the bottom of the outer opening. They get stuck which ruins them leaving a burn mark on the clothes. If I reach inside the drum I can push the front up about 1 inch which closed the gap where the clothes get pinched.

My question is do you think the rear bearing or the rollers are worn out allowing the drum to have slop in it or might it be another problem.

Thanks Gary

Neither, - Pop the top with a putty knife and remove a screw on either side to enable you to remove the front. Replace the worn rub strip (18" long) on the top of the door opening that the drum rides on and put it back together.

Not only could you have a roller with a worn inner sleeve bearing, but there's a good possibility that the front drum seal is worn out, that would allow the play and movement in the drum. Could get expensive.

It must be a roller wheel. as in I doubt you have one any more with that much play. This dryer isn't noisy? I would think it would make a lot of noise. I would be careful about running this until you get it fixed or replace it.

something is worn. could be rollers or the teflon glides.
