I was in bed. A friend who worked downtown called me and told me to turn on the TV, something terrible had happened in New York City. He was right. God willing nothing like it will happen to us again.

Yes, and when Armstrong stepped onto the Moon and when John Kennedy was killed. If I were a few days older I would probably be able to remember the end of the Korean War.
There are certain things that simply imprint themselves on your mind. I'm not sure you really have any control over it. I haven't made any conscious effort to remember the Kennedy assassination but I could walk to within 3 or 4 feet of where I was standing when I heard the news. I can remember my wife's legs the first time I saw her, I can't recall her dress but I sure do remember those legs.
The human mind is a very peculiar device.

Yeah I was getting ready for school. It was weird my brother kind of predicted the next plane crash. He had just gotten out of the shower and was like, "Whoa, Look there's another plane. It will probably hit the towers too." Two seconds later it did. I was younger so I didn't really get what was so bad about it. But when I went to school I told my friends mom about it and she wouldn't believe me, until my teachers told everyone the truth. I also remember some teachers watching it on the T.V.'s in the rooms and then in the middle of the day the principle told them to turn it off.

Yup.
I had just awakened and come downstairs for breakfast with my brothers when my mom approached me, tears streaming down her face, and she quietly explained what had happened. I still remember her exact words. I also remember looking at the television, which was on, and becoming paralyzed with fright in that instant.
My heart goes out for those who were actually in the planes and towers on 9/11, and for those who knew them.

I was asleep when my son rushed into the room telling me you've got to see and hear this. I went to his room where I heard pandemonium coming from his television.
I saw a plane hit the side of the wtc and thought I was watching the movie "KING KONG". It finally dawned on me that this was real.
It was one of the saddest days and week I've know since President Kennedy was assasinated in l964 I believe.

After climbing down from the coconut tree.
While on the ground and saw the mess out there.
Should have climb back up and stay up there.
But lost touch on how to climb back up.
While hitting the key board with ape fingers in playing computer games out there.

Teaching a third grade art class...wondering when the school was going to go on lockdown, wishing I could get to the news, and trying to pretend all was normal for the third graders.
