It's a novelty coin (not a scam). Through the years people have done a lot of different things to pennies as promotional and novelty items. The JFK on a Lincoln penny was sent out with papers describing the similarities between the two presidents.

Guess i can sit this one out, mirrorcoin and Blue T have it right. I have noticed over time that they are doing there home work and indeed one day will be what I consider numismatists. Not all coin collectors reach that goal, or even come close.

You have an interesting piece. I have heard of coins like the one you have. They were mainly made outside of the mint during the 1960's and 1970's. It may be worth a few dollars. Well I hope this helps answer your question.

That was a novelty penny. No collector value, maybe a couple of bucks on ebay or a yard sale.

Its a fake. many scammers have simply taken a kennedy image and stamped it onto a penny and sold it as a rarity.
