in diagnosing a car i found a bent flywheel. what could be the cause?

its odd for one to bend,they usually break in one spot or another,the only thing i have ever seen bend one is the starter and that was a rare case,it may just be a bad one,because you would have noticed a bad vibration in it,if its bent it will cause it to shake ,look for a bad spot on it that it might could have cracked from,good luck with it.

being honest never seen one bend/warp they usually crack or split, but it could be what others say cos would be some heat going through it if the clutch was slipping, some vibration tho lol

If tis a stick, it could have gotten really really hot, and warped.

or when starting it, it could have hydrolocked and bent it while the starter was engaged and cranking it, bending it.


only two things I could think of.

Heat and stress are the main reason for failure. If you have been riding the clutch or the clutch was slipping, it was generating heat. good luck.
