why in the world would you go into a fast food resturant wher e you fill your own drink and order a large drink, when you can fill it as much as you want to?

Because when you leave, you want to take home the largest amount possible. It's free.

I buy the small, I'm a frugal person.
I think the people who buy the large aren't as frugal as me,
or are too lazy to get up and get a refill.

Think its because when they leave after drinking all the want, they can refill the glass and take it home.

because a large is alot of liquid and you do not need to refill it. its nothing bad as you make it may seem.
