Ok I have a male and female RES and I have them in like a 45 or 55 gallon tank and I was wondering if the setup I am going to put them in sounds good. I will have them in about 1 foot of water. Can I go out to my creek and find a big rock and stick to put in the tank for them? Is this bad or ok? I will have a bare bottom tank with nothing down there. I will obvisously have a lamp and filter and water heater. Does this sound good? Is there anything I can't do or shouldnt do? Please correct me if I shouldnt do something listed above.

You can use the rock, but it should be thoroughly disinfected and rinsed. Heating it in the oven afterward will also kill bacteria and parasites.

That is a nice size tank for baby RES. The recommended size is a 10 gallon for every 1 inch of shell. A basking spot of about 95F, a UVB bulb on for 12 hours and within 12 inches of basking spot, a water heater, powerful filter (and frequent water changes to remove ammonia) is good. No substrate is good--they will attempt to eat anything. Here's the best site for more info and care!

a 10 gallon tank is purely too small for any crimson Eared Slider. A 20 Gallon Tank is a minimum length. The basking log is meant to drift for them to pass on precise of it and bask. you apart from mght choose a UVB easy via fact it acts as man made solar rays which help them advance. you apart from mght choose a heater it extremely is preset at approximately seventy 8 ranges and a good clear out. you're able to be able to additionally upload flora, plastic or actual, to mimic their organic atmosphere, it could develop their existence span. Gravel is likewise a sturdy decision, yet determine it incredibly is no longer sufficiently small for the RES to eat, via fact it incredibly is going to probable die if it eats the gravel.

you should put a dry area they can go on unless that big rock can do it. it will be nice if u had little rocks on the bottom. its easy to find it on the beach. other wise sounds good. if your tank is that big i also suggest you to put some water plant in there and some live fish.
