its the one on the inside of the tower not the one blowing out the back.i sprayed wd40 on it twice to get it going,but it needs replacing.when its not working the moniter wont come on.

Is it the one on the back of the case inside, or the one in the power supply? The one on the case can be replaced very easily. You can buy a replacement fan online, or some stores like Radio Shack sell them.
If it is the one in the power supply, then you should purchase a new power supply. Power supplies can be very dangerous to mess with if you don't know what you are doing (and I speak from experience!).

it's usually not that hard. just make sure you have the right fan to replace it. and make sure you ground yourself so you don't fry the computer. if your monitor won't come on, is it a gpu or psu fan, and not just the main fan? that would be considerably harder. if it's an old ibm it might be the psu fan b/c some of them have the monitor draw power from the psu.

it might be hard to find one that will mount the same ... but im sure u could find a suitable sized replacement and tie it on or hotglue it on ...
