He now claims there is no military solution in Iraq...did I miss the part where he served in the military and accumulated such military experience?

I knew they played war games at his little Indonesian madras when he was growing up but I thought they only burned the US flag and an Uncle Sam Doll in efigy.

The Liberal War College. Oh wait, there isn't a Liberal War College, only Army, Naval, Air and National War Colleges, sorry.

jpferrierjr - Dr. Rice is one of the authors of "Maker's of Modern Strategy", a text used at all of the above mentioned War Colleges. Also note that Cheney was Secretary of Defense during the Gulf War.

Obama's administrations management has some unfavourable effect. An occasion is the placing of the July 2011 withdrawal date. retaining a withdrawal date in the process ongoing militia operations is basically incorrect and extremely irresponsible. that's counter-efficient and damages the troops morale. Frustration by using fact the time decrease is going close to is increasing, relatively as coalition forces come upon an increasing form of intense obstacles on the floor.

He is getting at a more nuanced point. The point being that Iraq is currently divided politically and it needs political unity in order to alienate/isolate the violent groups and then and only then will it be able to deal with them effectively. The implication is that more of our troops will not solve the problem. It would be like if you sent British troops to the Constitutional Convention we had, when Americans had a hard time agreeing on anything. It wouldn't make sense. (Not that Iraq is even that far along in the process but you get the general idea.)

A madrassa is simply the Arabic word for school. Any connotation you have with it and extremism is inaccurate. There are a wide range of schools some are more radical some are American. (Yes you can have an American school in the Middle East- shocking, and it is still called a madrassa in Arabic!).

You don't need military experience to be a good Commander in Chief. You do however need experience to be a good President. I never heard of this guy prior to his campaign. What bills has he written? What is his voting record? Is he even qualified to be the head of the greatest Country and strongest military on the planet? Please. I really want to know.

Good point. Why talk about military objectives when you have no experience? It just is not right.
Ask Hillary, Edwards, Giuliani, Romney, Bill Clinton, LBJ, FDR, Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Jefferson. The sum total of their military experience is zilch, zero, nothing. Any thing else I can help you with.
