yeah i agree with you on that one, granted, yes, you are still underage and pregnant {sorry} but at least you weren't a "new" teenager and pregnant. being 13 and pregnant is really stupid. at 17 you're nearly an adult and i would think can hold yourself responsible for your actions. at 13 you depend a LOT more on your parents and getting pregnant at 13 is such a way to thank your parents for a job well done....

I totally agree with you but 16 is still young to have sex. Sex can lead to the creation of a beautiful human being, but it can also lead to STDs. I waited until I was 18 to have sex and I figured if I got pregnant, I would be in a better situation because I finished high school. I married my husband at 21 and I waited until I was 24 to get pregnant. I feel like now I am better equipt to take care of my son. You are still a baby too! You still have a life ahead of you and although you can still have fun, you will no longer have the opportunity to be a teenager. Having a baby changes everything. Good luck and God Bless you!

I agree that 13 is too young, but I don't think it's some epidemic, and it's certainly nothing new. I had sex for the first time when I was 13, it was a bad decision, that thankfully didn't result in any long term consequences. That was 13 years ago, and I knew other girls my age that had had sex.
And ya, like someone else said: "pot, meet kettle" Don't act like you're so much better than a 13 year old, just because you were 16. And newsflash, I know you won't realize this until you're older, but you're too young to know what a "real relationship" is!

One of the problems with the good old days is that the blinders are thicker. There were girls having sex at 13 40 years ago. No lie. I remember being surprised myself, but it is NOT new. It's the number that are having sex that is concerning. Precocious sex is often a clue of child molestation or extremely low self worth (no one will love me if I don't have sex). Is something new going on? Maybe. The only difference between today and my teenage years is that kids in elementary school have access to drugs. Could be a clue.
I would add that there wouldn't be any sex going on if parents of sons were teaching their sons to keep it zipped. Right now, mothers of sons seem to pretend that their sons aren't going to have sex and then blame the girl if she gets pregnant. If money was coming out of their pocket (child support), they would at least buy the condoms, don't you think? DNA is really putting a crink in their thinking (used to be that they would line up a bunch of boys to say that they had sex with the girl).

well, i agree with you that kids are being exposed to way more sex than they should be at younger ages.
But just to add, your only 17 and your pregnant. you probably haven't finished high school and aer still living at home with your parents.
You say you were in a "real relationship" in about 10 years from now you'll see the humor in that statement.
I'm not saying you can't raise a child, i'm just saying you to are young.
I think that there are way to many teenagers having babies when in fact they themselves are still babies.
Good luck with the pregnancy i hope it goes well.
Maybe, just concentrate on taking care of the child and stay away from boys.
oh and get your ged

I must say, I don't have much experience with whether or not it is cool to have sex at thirteen. What I do know is that it does happen, and it happened a few years ago as well. What this country needs is better sex ed starting from a younger age, so if thirteen year olds DO choose to have sex, they won't end up as mothers until they want to be.

My sister is 13 and she and most of her friends havn't even had their first boyfriends, most 13 year olds know the dangers and aren't stupid enough to risk it, 13 year olds aren't babies they know the dangers and know that they aren't mature enough to raise a child. The difference between 17 and 13 isn't that big both are minors and teenagers.
I agree that 13 is way to young as is 17 but I don't t hink you should jump to conclusions about what 13 year olds think about sex.

Im 14 and i agree, my cuson is only 2 months older than me and is having unprotected sex. i cant stop her!
Its just crazy! Dont they no what can happen?
I dont think theres a right age at all, thats not what im about but i do belive you sould wait till you really love and trust someone (in a good realationship). And also if your young use protection LOL.
Most teenagers only do it to 'fit in' because they want to be 'kool' or to get a boy to like them. Seriously i think we need more sex-ed in school because its obv not teaching half the world what they need to no and understand!!
Btw: Good luck with the birth of your baby. (:

Thats rediculas, kids are growing up way to fast. I hadnt really kissed a boy when I was 13, just onetime play stuff. This is crazy, I blame the parents. The kids shouldnt have the oprotunity to do this kind of stuff at 13.

Why do you care? Does it effect you directly? Also, a few years ago ppl who were 13 weren't having sex? you were only 13 four years ago! I have known plenty of people that started at 12... not me personally. I do agree that they are babies but I believe that anyone is a baby up until they move out of the house and pay their own bills... then they are an adult.
