Everyone thinks they know what's best, what horrors we are doing over there, that we have no right to be there.... and they have never even been to Iraq? That's like saying New York sucks and you have never been outside of Rhode Island. How can you judge what you have only seen or heard on the news? Does anyone ever ask the opinion of the people that actually were there? Or should we not confuse you with the facts as your puny, closed mind is already made up?

I've been in the Middle East for 4 years.

Here are my opinions

We did a good thing coming here.

We need to stay the course.

We're making progress.

The Surge is working.

The Iraqi's DO like us, they just fear the terrorist death squads.

The Iraqi Securtiy Forces are trying their hardest, it's the Iraqi Government that is not doing enough.

If we Cut and Run two things will happen.
1. The terrorists will be eboldened and follow us home.
2. We'll be back over here once Iran takes control of Iraq.

These are just the opinions of a humble Soldier and Veteran.

I agree. Quick opinions with no facts. What does the American public know about our military intelligence? Absolutely nothing.

All the posts I've seen on the military section are soldiers who have served in Iraq, saying it's a bad idea to leave. They proclaim they are making progress or at least feel confident they are.

They can't. And usually those with no solutions have the loudest voices.

Their opinions on Iraq are coloured by their feelings toward George Bush. Which is ironic in its stupidity and ignorance.
