Does anyone here have a sugar glider? I really want one so I've been doing a lot of research on them. I have a few questions about them? first How big Do they grow do they get big like this? http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b250/Roytwo/May%202006%20West%20Coast%20Game%20Park/West_Coast_Game_Park_May2006_053.jpg

Second Where Can I buy one?

Third question is it a lot of work taking care of them? Can you train them?

They are ILLEGAL in PA!! For the sake of the animal don't get one unless you move to a glider friendly state. You can check it out yourself at Glidercentral.net in the laws and regs forum.

They are more difficult to take care of than most common pets such as hamsters, they require a large cage.
This is a great site created by a breader, it has tons of great info and things you can make for your sug instead of having to buy them

Also, I wouldnt recommend getting from a pet store unless its necessary (such as you absolutly cannot find a breader).
You can often adopt them because a lot of owners find them difficult to keep. Try this website or call your local shelter:

Look for a breeder. I don't suggest going to a pet store.

They stay hand length.

They can be difficult to care for, they require a large variety in their diet to stay healthy, and feeding them can be costly. You can train them, but it's a lot of work. Just getting them to trust you can be difficult and no one likes a glider bite.
