No, i am not refering to my situation, i am only in my 20's, and i don't have a child nor am i pregnant. So, do not assume that i am automatically talking about myself. I was just wondering b/c the topic came up. Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sounds like selling a kid, doesn't seem moral, regarless of legality.

I'm sure you can, there are a lot of private adoptions that are done without the use of an agency. However, there are a lot of legal forms and procedures to go through, so it might be easier with an agency than not.

It may depend on the state the parents are in, but I don't know much about adoption laws.

However, it is legal to 'sponsor' a child, where well-to-do families or individuals can donate money to support a child with a family.

Yes, it's illegal to put your own child for adoption without the adoption agency being involved. You should contact the adoption agency that you would like to adopt a child.

Not at all. A family member or friend may adopt the child legally but NO you cannot advertise your child for adoption on Craigslist. Capice?

Yes, in a sense. You can sign over custody legally to a party with intervention of the court system, however no monies can ever exchange hands or that is what is called human trafficking and it is a felony.

Adoption is heavily regulated by the state. Yes it will be breaking several local, state, and federal laws.
