If nobody scored in overtime the winner would be the team who scored the most goals.

In the original Summit Series, if Henderson would not have scored his goal at the very end of game 8, the series would have ended in a 4-4 draw, and I read somewhere that the Soviets would have won because they had more goals or something like that.

Yeah, Like I'm Telling you has it right. People *cough* *bob loblaw* *cough* are underestimating my homeland again this year, bob said Canada would win 7-1, he expects domination. Didn't anyone learn from the original Series? I say it ends tied 4-4.

There was no stipulations. There was no trophy. The whole 1972 series was done for bragging rights. Of course, you have to remember that 22 million Canadians were convinced the score would be 8 games to nil for Canada, and the score of each game would be 25-0, such was the mentality of the Canadian public.
Had it ended in a tie, both teams would have claimed a small victory. Yes, the Russians outscored Canada 31-30, but Canada won 4 games, the Russians only won 3, and there was one tie.
Both teams were awarded medals simply for agreeing to participate

Mike, we'll discuss this again in a couple of weeks. Canada, IMO just has a really dominate roster. Then again, I am not familiar with all of the Russian roster but I have seen the recent domination at the World Juniors and I think it will carry over. Don't make me go the 8-0 road. I stand by my prediction of 7-1.

They play spin the bottle to see who wins
ADD: real answer-- Yeah what answerer 2 said is most likely right. Best +/- for the team. It is wierd that it is 8 games though. Canada will win 6-2 with their roster.
Add 2:what does stipulation mean?
