Well, since they both started making cars over 100 years ago, can you be a bit specific?
For Ford the WWII Jeep, the 66-77 Bronco,78-79 Bronco and the 73-79 Fseries are great offroaders.
For Chevy, the 69-72, 73-87 Full size 4x4s are very capable off-road.
I am not a big fan of the newer 4x4s because in order to get them to what I consider to be a "capable" trail rig, costs almost as much as buying another truck.

They are about the same.... all vehicles break down now and then..... chevy makes great engines, ford makes great rears, trans and suspensions..... pro and cons to both.....
