First, the "left" is no more monolithic than the "right" on any question, including this one. There isn't an "official left wing position" that we all adhere to.
There are also people on the "right" that have no respect whatsoever for President Bush, and others that feel that he has deliberately and maliciously highjacked the conservative movement, so apparently some on the right are having the same problem deciding whether he is a moron or a diabolical genius.
I'm satisfied by saying that he has been an exceptionally poor leader (for whatever reason) that was either misled by bad data and wishful thinking, or who knowingly misled and deceived a big part of the American public.
I honestly hope that it is the former, rather than the latter, as I would prefer to believe, even now, that Mr. Bush has tried to be a good President.
Either way, however, he has led our country into a disastrous war for reasons that seem implausible at best. He has, in my opinion, seriously eroded many of the freedoms that we take for granted and done grave damage to our reputation throughout the world. I hope he is a good person, but based on his performance, he's been a terrible President.

He's a moron. Some of his handlers may be diabolical, though I wouldn't describe any of them as a genius, frankly. Who's claiming Bush is a diabolical genius by the way? I always hear conservatives accusing anyone who doesn't like him of feeling that way but I've yet to actually be given any concrete examples. As for those who will inevitably bring up his Yale pedigree, I defy them to do the following: ask themselves if someone with his academic track record and cerebral capacity would ever in a million years be admitted to that school without having wealthy and influential parents. And perhaps someone could shed some light as to his contributions to academia while they're at it.

Bush is a tool of the PNAC/NWO/NAU.
He comes from a wealthy invested family that has political power and I am sure that from the day he won the Presidency until about Easter he walked around mumbling to himself..."I can't believe this! How did I get here?"
He is a fool being led by diabolical geniuses like Karl Rove and Dick Cheney and Henry Kissinger!

Nobody ever claimed Bush was anything but a moron on a major ego trip.
Chaney runs the country; that's a documented fact.
It is possible to be extremely diabolical and an idiot at the same time. Most American did not realize that prior to 2000, they thought the moron couldn't do any harm.
They were wrong, obviously, and now most Americans know they were wrong.

Neither side of politics will even have their mind totally made up. I would never call Bush a moron nor would I call any person that has been president anything negative. They do deserve respect for being the leader of our country. As for being a genius, I don't know if he is that. I like to think he's just a normal human that sometimes makes a mistake and other times makes good decisions.

He can't be both? Schizophrenia and hearing voices etc. Maybe he is a diabolical genius at some times and a blithering moron other times.

Rove made the plans, Bush executed them.
While I would never seriously claim that Bush is "retarded" or something I hardly think he is the most intelligent President we've had. He did however surround himself with many smart people, although I believe they were horribly wrong.
The major things I criticize Bush for are his unwillingness to listen to (or tolerate) other opinions, his unwillingness to change courses (or admit mistake), and promoting or being concerned with image over substance. These two weaknesses have played large roles in what I consider to be the biggest black eyes for his Presidency: Iraq and Katrina.

When one has the best operatives money can buy, anything is possible. Of course, by such logic, Bush would be considered having a multiple personality disorder. Yet the BUsh adminstration itself has made a habit of violating the rules of logic.

I got to give credit to the Bush administration to trick their supporters to believe they are helping them but doing everything to harm them and the whole country by their policies in reality...

No, he's probably of better than average intelligence. But he consistently makes bad and ill considered decisions. So in my view, he's neither unintelligent nor a genius.
