getting eyebrows waxed...?

Question

so im going into 7th grade and i want to get my eyebrows waxed. i need someone who has had there eyebrows done before to tell me the honest truth about -

*is it worth it?
*on a scale of 1-10 (10 high, 1 low) how would you rate the pain?
*describe the ENTIRE experience.

okay one more thing.. im getting them done one day before school starts. are they gonna look red and puffy at skool the next day?

It wasn't that painful. Just a little bit. It's worth it. definitely. It'll make you look a lot better and define your face. I think on a scale of 1-10, the hurt would be around 5 or 6. You can do it. If I can handle it, so can you. Your eyebrows would be really nice, but the areas around it will be red for awhile because of the wax. it's about $7 around my area. I think it's great. yOu just have to pluck it once the hair grows back because by then you'll have an eyebrow line and you can see where to pluck, so you don't have to return to the place for a longer time

I've been getting mine waxed for years and I love it. If you are really sensitive to pain, take Advil 1/2 hour before you go. Every time you go it will hurt less as your skin becomes used to it.

First, they brush your brows and maybe do a little trimming. Then they will put some powder on your skin and then the put the wax on with a stick similar to a popsicle stick. Then they press the strip over the wax and pull it off quickly like a band aid. Usually they put their fingers over the spot which makes the pain stop. Then they do the other side. It's so quick and the results are great.

Make sure you go to a good salon or spa and not some place that does it on the side. The good places will look at the shape of your face and shape your brows accordingly.

For me the pain is a 2 or 3 and I'm pink for about 5 minutes.

kewl! im going into 8th grade. ok so when u get ur eyebrows waxed, on a scale of 1-10 i'd say pain is about a 7. but dont worry...it hurts when the person rips off the paper then the pain goes away in like 10 seconds. so the wax is really warm, but not hot. then the person spreads it onto the area thet u want waxed. then they put a piece of clothish paper on the area and then BAM!! they rip it off and there u go...no hair. i have had my eyebrow waxed b4 so thats how i know this stuff. your eyebrows will b red 4 a while but it'll go away. have fun in 7th grade! oh yea and 2 keep your eyebrows look good longer, use a tweezer 2 do little touch ups every now and then.

Yes it is totally worth it, it can make such a difference bringing out your facial features. I personally don't think they hurt that much, maybe a 4 on a day I'm feeling particularly whiny...nothing compared to the Brazilian i was forced to get upon losing a bet. It shouldn't take more than 15 mins for the first time. They'll ask you your preferred style (thin, thick etc )clean the area before applying the wax, apply the wax and the pull it off in various areas. Afterwards they'll tweeze any hair they missed or couldn't get to and... voila beautiful new eyebrows. Warning though your eyebrow area will be red and a little sore but not to bad, you can take an aspirin about 20 mins before if your worried about pain. Good luck

I am a year older than you, and i got my eyebrows done for the first time at your age. See if your mom can get you to get your eyebrows done sooner than that, if not, its not a HUGE problem.

On a scale 1-10 the waxing is like a 2, its more surprise than pain

On a scale 1-10 the plucking afterwords is like a 4 or 5, but for the time it hurts, like it hurts for 2 seconds after and the pain is gone.

Well I honestly didn't think it hurt a whole lot! They usually have you lay down a table/bed before they do it, and examine your eye brows to determine how much/how little waxing needs to be done. Then they apply the wax to the area, press down the waxing strip, and then pull. Your eyes may water a little bit, but its not a ton of pain. They repeat this process usually 3 to 4 times on each eye, then wipe the extra wax of the eyebrow with a wet wash cloth. Your eyes brows may be red for the rest of the day, but just ice them to relieve redness. PS you may not want to wear eyeshadow right after getting it done, as it may irritate the eye.

totally worth it based on all the compliments I get about my gorgeous eyes. your brows frame your face.

pain maybe like a 3 tops. i have high pain threshhold and waxing doesn't bother me...only part that sometimes hurts is right below the brow on the upper lid. that are maybe a 6.

when I get my brows done, person applys baby powder to brow area, to help the hairs grab the wax, they work in sections with the wax and a very small applicator. apply a litt bit, put muslin cloth on top, rips that off, and then once done waxing, tweezes any stray hairs that were missed. after that massages on some nice oil stuff and done. usually 15 mins tops at the spa I go to.

I get my eyebrows waxed all the time. IT is soo worth it. I'll rate the pain a 1. It all depends on how sensitive your skin actually is. The person that is waxing you, will tell you to lay down on a chair.You describe how you want the shape of your brow to be and how thin you want it. You close your eyes, they put the wax on your brow....and they remove your unwanted hair. It takes about 2 minutes. I love how the results are. I'm sure you will too.

It depends on how confident you feel with your eyebrows the way they are. If you feel like you need to get them waxed in order to feel good about your appearance, then it's worth it!
The pain is like a short sharp zipping pain. I get my upper lip waxed. It doesn't hurt very much at all. I'd rate it a 1.5 to a 2.
But I have very important advice for you. DO RESEARCH! I went and got my eyebrows waxed at a young age too and the lady wasn't very good at it. One of my eyebrows is now slightly shorter than the other and it won't grow back. I'll have to fill it in with pencil for the rest of my life! So you need to look around. Go to a nice salon, not a cheap one. Go to your library and do research on eyebrow waxing. I just recently found a book that showed the shapes of eyebrows of famous actresses like Audrey Hepburn and Liz Taylor. Find the shape you like then take it to the salon with you! Go prepared!

the pain is not like something horroble ... is like puttin tape on ur skin n then taking it out real fast.. trust me u can take it and u get use to it... well i think its reallyyyyyyyyy worth it, cuz having nice eyebrows changes ur face completely.. u go from a 5 to a 10.. well thats my opinion i think eyebrows are a big part of beauty , but if ur eyebrows are cute and dont need waxing then juss plug them a little... the pain is like a 2 a 10 would be gettin a bikini wax
