Faulkner won the Nobel Prize for Literature which is about as high as you an get. His acceptance speech is one of the classic statements about the importance of literature.
He also won the Pulitzer Prize for The Reivers.
Mark Twain won an honorary doctorate from Oxford University.
I don't know of any awards won by Hurston although she deserved them/

I don't believe Faulkner won any awards for As I Lay Dying, but he won both a Nobel Prize and a Pulitzer Prize for A Fable. He also won another Pulitzer Prize (posthumously) for The Reivers. He won two National Books Awards as well. I'm not sure what kind of awards Hurston won, but I do believe she was awarded a couple of fellowships to do anthropological research. As for Twain, I have no idea if if won any kind of awards for that book or any other, I'm sure they were giving any out when he was writing. These books are all great classics certainly.

SO today.. Got home from work at 130 am (and yes that is am as in the morning) and had an artichoke while watching the end of blade trinity. Then proceded to try and find anything else on. Negative. SO then i came in to my room turned on my stereo, received some myspace spam and deleted it. Now I stumbled onto yahoo answer for the first time in 3 months and am just now getting ready for bed. Let me know if you want yesterday too.. lol

Okay, how hard have you tried? I typed in William Faulkner awards and knew what award he received for "As I Lay Trying" in less than 2 seconds.

Go to the search engine and do the research:

Nice try.

Aww, Nadia.
That guy ^^^^ is a jerk.
Also, Beach Saint, it's "As I Lay DYING".
Awards for "As I Lay Trying" in 2 seconds? Ahaha.
Nice job failing at acting like a pompous jerk.
