It's a series of 3 base pairs (Adenosine, Guanine, Cytosine, or Uracil) on an mRNA molecule, which code for an amino acid. A group of amino acids is a protein, which are integral to our systems as a whole.

A typo? Or weird lettering. half the time I read "r"'s as "n"'s.
Where'd you read it? That might give us a hint.

(On second thought and on scoping out the other answers, whiteflame55's answer seems about right.)
