What does it mean? It's a bit unusual.

It sure is a unique name, but a unique name is not always a good name.
Lots of parents these days are going for 'unusual' or 'unique' names, and I understand why; some common names are just too plain, or too boring. But, I also think that sometimes common names can be just as good, or better than unique names.
In this case, 'Omupo' would be living in dread of each coming day. Mispronounciation would be a HUGE problem, 'Omupo' isn't even spelled anything like 'Oh-Mok-Pohed'

Please, don't burden your child with this. If you still want to go for a unique name, at least chose something that is easily sounded out, like Aden, or Aaron it's pronounced just the way it's spelled.

Please, my brother's given name was Xavier, and he changed it to Dylan the second he turned 18. Don't give a child a name that he will hate, and then ditch for something 'normal'

*-been there, done that-*

In another country or another planet, it's a great name. Kids so love to have names that no one can spell or pronounce. They enjoy being made fun of for being different (sarcasm).

If you want to give the child a different name, make it pronounceable and spellable. And make sure it doesn't rhyme with any dirty words.

Well the way it is said is a LOT different then how it is spelled, so you might have to pronounce it to alot of people. But if you like it go for it, The people on Yahoo! Answers can't make the decision for you!

Good Luck!

Unless that's some sort of important name in whatever culture you're from, spare the poor kid torture and name him something simple that he and others can actually pronounce. Or give him that name as a first name but use a simple middle name to actually address him.

Since you reside in Wisconsin, don't you think that child might be better served with a name that won't make him/her the focal point of verbal harassment in school... American children can be quite cruel during the years of school, so I would seriously keep that in mind when naming your son or daughter !

What country do you plan to send your child to once they start school because they'll be made fun of here.
But in the end it's your child....and not anyone else's.So pick what you think is best.

WOW. That is quite unique! I wouldn't name my child that, unless it is a heritage name, but to me, it sounds absolutely horrid! But everyone has their own opinions! I hope you choose what you feel is right!
