lol also where I meant to go with the whole doll house and hula hoop thing was that the world is just going round and round until the creator (God) decides to stop (for the hula hoop), and that our creator (God) has things plans for us and is helping us live them out (doll house). Until he decides to let the dolls/people out of the house.

I see it as an ever expanding, unimaginable, empty, silent abyss.

Hula hoops are boring. I would say a never ending doll house you can put your own personal imprint on as you go through.

neither, i see it as a nature preserve, something created then allowed/expected to survive on its own
the concepts you offer, of a God which can/will stop the hula-hoop, take people out of the doll house, sounds sort of morbid and depressing to me, to suddenly take away life as we know it, just doesnt seem just

I do not see it as either, but if I had to choose it would be the hula hoop. There isn't an end to it.

I see it as neither.I view it as the Brahma in the Hindu scriptures as Brahma which was alone and decided to be many(eko aham ,bahu syam)This view coincides with the modern theory of an expanding universe. However, while the Hindu views it as pure consciousness I tend to agree with the scientific view of discounting it.May be the primary explosion was purely accidental and that conscinousness was a later(accidental and unconscious outcome and may very well be an incidental product and short-lived also. But the view that even life is nothing but the fusion of elements (mark accidental) and may be swept away as it came I see in consciousness an inchoate aspiration to change(improve?) things. The primordial monkey could have remained an arboreal creature ad infinitum but is perhaps unscio usly and purely being driven by an instinct of survival in the face of oveexploitation of tree products came down, learned to walk upright with all the subsequent developments holds a message. It isnot unlikely that the universe which exploded to expand may sweep itself back to its primordial status at some point of time(the fourth dimension) the evolved conscousness in the form of man would succeed to some extent to row itself away to safety through the melee. The story of Noah(Manu) is symbolic in this respect. The universe is not according to me a 'dance of wild atoms' but a movement(may be unconscious) towards some goal-making the tomorrow better than today. It does not necessarily mean development of man ultimately to theistic status but a determined swimmer on the wild ocean of the universe determined to remain afloat.

it appears folks are reading "universe" as "earth". if your reference to "universe" is in the galaxy, etc., inclusive of Earth, then i would probably see it more as a hula hoop, in that it is concentric in its interrelation. If you were specifically inadvertently referring to the Earth, then i would see it more as a doll house, in that it has many layers (read: floors), and contents of the dollhouse would be the people of Earth and the animals/vegetation etc.

It is more of a hula hoop because everything revolves on it.

well.. i kinda agree with Nicole but if you insist on me choosing one of your answers, then i would say a giant hula hoop. Cuz since i'm on land and not in space and i know the earth is round, it's kinda hard for me to imagine it in any other shape or form.
but that's just my oppinion. :)
i think you're question is really cool so i'm givin you a star. :)

I don't see the world either way. God created the world and has control of everything. The Earth is a big wide open space where truth is stranger then fiction.

i am an amateur astronomer and i can see your question in 2 perspectives. but the answer i will give you is quite straight forward... i see the universe as a dolls house and each room as its own universe. which in terms means that i see the universe as a multi universe. which means there is more that one universe "who is to sat that we are the only planet", who is to say that we are the only solar system, who is to sat that we are the only galaxy, and ?????? who is to say that we are the only universe... com say ????
