WWJD? Where is your compassion? Because the so called "rich" in Mexico take advantage of us and use the US to supply so called "welfare" to their poor, we're just supposed to turn our backs and let people DIE? What about the RICH in our OWN country who use the Poor to get even RICHER? The rich in our OWN country who let people die because they're too greedy to pay their fair share of taxes. Ever work for minimum wage? It's slave labor. Corporate CEO's make millions when their employees make fifteen thousand if they're lucky. What about tax breaks that go the the RICHEST 1% of Americans? Do you think that's fair? In 2006 alone, the US government gave 92 BILLION dollars (that's $92,000,000,000) out in Corporate Welfare to huge Corporations. If we can take care of the Most Fortunate in our country, why can't we take care of the LEAST fortunate?

Hmmm... Clearly the people who are harmed by Hurricane Dean are not the ones "breaking our boarders [sic]" but perhaps since they all live in Mexico, that is not important to you.
By the way, your question implies that you are eager to "help our poor." is that really the case? Most xenophobes only invoke "our poor" while beating up on foreigners. When it comes time to discuss national health care or minimum wage, or improved housing and education for the poor, the "Let them take care of their own" folks are nowhere to be seen.

ohhh. First off, most immigration now is from further south than Mexico. Second off, you can't blame the sellers when you are a buyer. That's like accusing Wal Mart of poor labor prices while going through the isles picking up your merchandise. Responsibility is necessary here and it should not involve punishing innocent people. It is impotant that it will not be the rich who suffer for this hurricane, but the poor that will be in danger. (From another perspective: prevent them from being homeless for long by sending aid and they are more likely to stay in their homes...)

I do agree that the border issue is a huge problem as is the issue of illegal's useing up all our funds while we have many of our own that are starving, in the streets, unemployed, etc, ... the list goes on and on. If there was a better "Land of opportunity" on our own borders, there would be many people from this country trying to cross over no matter the cost/consequences. Regardless of how one portion of a country acts torwards another, there are many helpless and innocent people in ALL countries. Helping someone in need is the right thing to do. How much you help, well, that's another issue all in itself!

I don't think our government should help. The President should send a message to the Mexican President saying help will be on the way when he takes tangible action to keep his people at home. Now if individuals want to send more, or go down there and help out personally, I don't think the government should impede that effort.

Last time I checked, those poor people that lost their houses on the Yucatan peninsula didn't cross the border and they didn't do anything wrong. I would want someone to people me. If the economy of Mexico is bad already, imagine what it would be like with a ruined Yucatan.

LIe !!! Conservatives are those that knows they are criminals, ought to be dealt with like criminals and all ought to be deported. And are against Amnesty. Conservatives do no longer prefer to reward a criminal via giving them a loose bypass.

We should help them because they are humans and it’s the right thing to do. Other than their corrupt socialist government they are for the most part good people so lay off.
Why else?
I am a conservative Christian. Stand with me.
