No, but it is possible for a majority of people to agree on the same person for president if Americans would stop putting their religious beliefs into politics.

The biggest separator of our nation is religion. We should take an example from other democratic nations, for example Israel whom we (dems and repubs) support as an ally. That nation was founded on the religious belief that the children of Abraham belong there, but they are a secular state. Gays are not discriminated against and are welcome openly to the military, and abortion is legal for certain circumstances, even though the government is run by religious Jews.

The republicans, especially the religious ones, support Israel knowing this, yet feel that separation from church and state in our country, and taking 'morals' out of politics, is unacceptable here. It's a contradiction.

If religion can be truly separated from politics, then it would be easier to look at each candidate for what they can do for the US, not which of their 'morals' are compatible with religion, and which 'party' platform is biased towards their views.

That would be weird. A president for and against major issues. I'd love to see a President like Teddy Roosevelt, it sure seems to me that almost everyone loved the guy when our country needed someone to lead us when our country needed a real leader.

How about a president who is most things to everyone. I know that our nations people can find common ground on the really important issues and find a leader to get this country back to pride in its "leadership".

Even the Almighty is not all things to all people, because some people just don't know what they want...except to be taken care of by somebody else who is all things to all people.

No, but at the very least we should expect competence. Unfortunately, the Republicans haven't produced a competent President since Eisenhower.
