I thought he obsessed over it and tried EVERYTHING in his power to capture him? (Even though Sudan tried to pawn him off to us 3 times in the 90's)

g - Clinton said himself during an interview that HE tried EVERYTHING he could to capture Saddam, he obsessed over it. I'm sure your handy dandy YouTube has a video or two of the interview. He also admitted that he failed in "capturing".

Gordon - You are probably the first person I have seen in here give some type of resolve to Iraq. You most likely get best answer and all thumbs up here. :)

I get it now, it was bill clinton in the library with the candlestick! Those neoconservatives at youtube dot com figured it out!
Serious answer: I'm sick of the bill clinton thing, its obvious he didn't capture hussien, he only had the 1998 thing and the no fly zone,
this is 2007. We are in Iraq and its a crappy thing right now. How do we fix this?
International diplomacy and better use of the money government is spending.
The surge won't solve this problem of the civil war and the foreign terrorists because there will be people who will continue to come in and attack.
Heres what we need to do, or continue to do, we need to better build buildings, schools, hospitals, factories, etc. We need to give Iraq an alternative to . . . well 2007 Iraq.
The solution is America really. This is something Rush was talking about in 2005 and he is right. Not cause he is Rush, but because the point has merit.
The solution to terrorism is America, our capitalism and our democracy.
This isn't us forceing our values, not at all. Freedom to choose is an inalienable right, and that means every citizen of Earth has the rights to choose his and her economic destiny and political destiny.
We cant just say boom vote for president and wave a magic wand,
look, the point is, bill clinton isn't president, bush is, and all i see is him trying for a military solution.
THis is polictical and economic and the solution is America.
I view my version of the solution as a neo-conservative one. Clinton's solutions were sort of attack with the air force, a sort of conservative military solution, containment, which wasn't bad for the 90s, not really.
Did 9-11 change everything? Of course it did. With the risk of terrorists entering the country with a bomb we had to act. Hussien clearly wanted those weapons. Only fools sit around picking the pellets out of their butt and say "where are those wmd and impeach bush".
My attack of the bush is the failed diplomacy, we need more troops to secure the borders with iran and syria,
need to reach out to other countries to help with security and the rebuidling.
THanks.

I especially like the part of this link that says " The CIA's analysis of al-Qaida before Sept. 2001 was lacking. No comprehensive report focusing on bin Laden was written after 1993, and no comprehensive report laying out the threats of 2001 was assembled. "A number of important issues were covered insufficiently or not at all," the report found." The reason i like this part is because this took place during the Clinton Administration and proves all those Liberals wrong when they go pointing fingers at President Bush. they also can't say this is from a biased site, because this is yahoo news, which leans to the left.

Bill Clinton had upwards of ten chances to have Osama bin Laden assassinated by the CIA during the 1990s, following the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Each time, the CIA had the perfect attempt lined up and just needed permission to take him out.
But Bill told them no, every time.
And that is right out of the mouth of the former CIA director under Clinton during an interview on national TV.

We can blame Clinton's inaction/appeasement for 9/11! Don't let the new wave of Democrats keep us from doing what needs to be done!

I'm not sure anyone says he did EVERYTHING in his power... if you remember anything... you would know that NO ONE really wanted him too... Republican controlled congress wasn't begging him to take action... or even saying ONE WORD about it...
but he did as much, if not probably more, than Bush did... pre-9-11 to fight terror...
and you do know... you guys have only one source for your "Sudan rumors"... even Dan Rather had more than one source for his Bush story and you guys call that "shoddy journalism"
