They absolutely can. I currently have two males Rodney and Jules who love each other. Make sure you adopt, and maybe try to go for pigs of different ages. That way you don't have them going through puberty and such together. Or just two older pigs even.

Pigs are actually happier in pairs. Just make sure you do introductions correctly. This means putting them in a neutral territory (like a tub) with lots of hay, veggies, and such. This way they'll be peaceful. When they get used together monitor them closely for fights.

The is normal dominance behavior to be expected. Such as mounting, rumbling, and maybe even a tussle or two, but this all passes. If it gets too bad separate for a while, and try to introduce again at a later time.

Please do not get them from a pet store, not only are they terrible (they buy from breeders), but they often missex piggies. They have as much knowledge on pigs as someone walking down the street half the time.

Enjoy your pair.

Join the above forums for discussion on guinea pigs, they have a very useful community of users. You can talk to them about your pig's medical issues, food questions, and your life. It is an amazing website.

Also make sure you have the right size cage for two boys.

Pet store cages are just glorified litter boxes.

sure, this could be a dominance difficulty. notwithstanding, male guinea pigs CAN stay together very luckily, offering their are actually not any sows close by to combat over. maximum won't combat heavily... human beings incredibly overreact; its probably that they have on no account saved guinea pigs - boars fairly - themselves. shop a watch on them. in the event that they have adequate space (ie. not a tiny puppy shop cage. approximately 10sq feet is what they choose) they the squabbling could desire to subside in a number of days while they address who's the dominant male. as long as no blood is being drawn and none of your guinea pigs are being bullied to the ingredient to loosing weight/urge for foodstuff, then you definately dont could desire to split them.

Well, it's not a yes or no answer. The answer is "maybe". Some males who are raised together can get along fine, but many others may fight. If you get two males, ask yourself if you are prepared to set up a whole second cage for it and for them to live separately for the next 5-7 years.

it depends on how old they are and if they have been with other guinea pigs before if they are young they should go together and if they are older keep females away or they will fight over her

i would not advise it. you should never put two male anythings together if you can avoid it. i had two hamsters when i was younger both male and they fought until one almost killed the other one
