I went into Bloomingdales, a high-end store and had three bra experts come to measure me. After about 30 bras of different sizes, I was told I could not be helped there. When I tried on the 32DD, the 32 fit, but the cup was too small and with the 34DD, the cup fit but the width was too big. I don't want to spend a lot of money only to get a bra altered. Anyone have any suggestions??

BTW- last time I posted a boob question I got an answer from a perv. which I did not appreciate. Only female responces requested. Innapropriate comments will be reported.
Thanks

32DD is a good band but the cup is too small
34DD is a good cup but the band is too big

Your band is clearly a 32

The cup in a 34DD is the same as the cup in a 32DDD

A 32DDD is the same size as a 32EE (the EE shape is different so you might even like an E) -- either is going to be exceptionally hard to find in stock anywhere but online and then you don't get the chance to try it on.

Your best option may well be to find a shop that does custom bra work - it would be the same shop that does bras for post-surgery. Let them measure you for size and determine if it is better to have one made or to alter (professionally) a 34DD for you. This sort of shop will have a professional fitter as opposed to a lingerie salesperson with a tape. You can buy stock in 34DD and get some nice things, having them professionally altered isn't a bad thing.

Whatever you pick - at your size, good support is essential. Don't skimp here or you may find yourself having back and shoulder problems later.

PS: all guys aren't clueless on this topic. ☺ some of us studied this stuff in college...

I would not go to a Department Store to buy a bra at your size. (I'm not hating, before my reduction I was a 42H) I recommend a boutique that specializes in fitting larger cup sizes. I don't know what area you live in. But I have 3 in my metro area. They will also measure you, but they usually have a very large array of different brands, all with different fits. It make take an hour or so to find the perfect one for you. It will however probably cost a little more. But lets face it, the 'girls' are worth it. :)

I don't know if there's a Bare Necessities near you, but you might want to check there. They are usually pretty good about sizing you. Sometimes the size of the cup depends on the specific style of the bra, so try lots of different types. Your size will vary with the bra. I have luck at lane bryant, but i take their smallest band size which is a 36 so that doesnt help you out. It's so hard to find bras with our size cups.... ack!

I'd say go with cup size first. Can you adjust the strap connecting the back to the last hook? Also, try going to Lane Bryant, as a big girl myself, I find that their bras fit the best. In my experience, Victoria Secret is the last place to go, they have such a limited selection for larger sizes. If you are looking for something more racy, you could even try Fredericks of Hollywood or even Torrid. Good Luck!

Well, if you already tried clasping the bra to the smallest size one the 34 DD, maybe you can just cut off two inces of the clasp side on the 34, so the clasp back on and then it would fit. It's not that hard, and you can buy just a bunch of cheap Target bras or something.

I know your only looking for answers from women, but here is a serious answer from a guy. Try buying a bra extension, they are usually available in the notions department of a good fabric store. You should be able to add 2 inches to a bra for a couple of bucks.

I have the same problem as u in Victoria secrets. I bought a ton of 32DD in the Body by Victoria Demi which I love! Best bra in my opinion, very soft and comfortable. I notice one side of my boob keeps popping out so I decided to try a 34D which I think fits great. Maybe you should try that size and see. Anyways hope that helps!

Try going to a a specialised lingerie store, they're usually a lot more helpful than department stores and have better selection in less common sizes. A lot of them carry sizes aa-f in all band sizes so you might find a better fit there

Why dont you try Victorias Secret? There always willing to help their customers and also measure for free.. If they dont have your size I suggest going to Macys they have a HUGE bra selection.. hell they dedicate a whole floor to it. They have very large sizes too. Good luck!
