Hi :) I'm a skilled hockey player from a really small Canadian town & I was wondering if there is anything I could do to, at least, get the opportunity of being scouted? I know & have been told many times that I have what it takes to play for a prestigous prep school, but my town is really lacking opportunity. Scouts don't ever come to my area, so I have no chance at all of being scouted here.. soooooo what can I do?
If anyone knows anything at all please let me know :) thanks!

You don't talk about your exact situation, so I'll outline the scenarios for you.
#1. You live in a town where there is NO travel team
- call the prep school that interests you and ask to arrange a tryout.
#2. You live in a town WITH a travel team and you play on it
- the prep school probably sends scouts to the tournaments you play in, or you can call and ask to have one attend one of your tournaments
#3. You live in a town WITH a travel team, but don't play on it
- your chances of being scouted are slim to none in this case.

Well I know on the USA they have State teams and tournaments you try out for...and basically if you make that team you get scouuted.
Also I know some major tournament in New England...The Polar Bear...And I forget the name of the other one...my team goes every year...and I hought there was a Canadian team last year.
Scouts go to that

call people (scouts, schools, etc) and let them know. Have someone tape your games or practices and send to as many people as you can. let themknow you are there because no one else will do it for you. good luck.

if your coach agrees that you have what it takes get him/her to get in touch with a scout for you. That's your best shot. good luck.
