There's a lake behind my parent's house and the back portion of the lawn slopes down into it. My father has trouble reaching the farthest part of the grass by the water. What kind of lawn mower should he use?

Id suggest a weedwacker - you dont want to be driving a tractor or using a push mower by the water ( too muddy) .

It sounds like you have a riding mower and it can't handle the terrain. If that is the case, I would recommend a mid range Toro 21" walk behind mower.

The mid range Toro is self propelled, with enough power to go up and down the hill, yet light enough for your father to handle it. It also has enough power to cut the grass and a transmission that will last a few years.

The cost is about $550, but worth every penny!

if the area is not too large i would use a weedeater instead of a mower. if it is a large area i would try a self propelled walk behind mower so that he wont be trying to drag it up and down the hill.
