How about sending a radio controlled vehicle with a 360° rotatable camera mounted to it?
Also, some kind of GPS or cell-phone attached so that the miners can communicate where they are in the mine?
Doesn't NASA or the Military have something like that?
What's up with all these great engineering minds in this country?
Can't you think of something?
I too believe the miners to be alive.
Give them EVERY CHANCE possible to be rescued.
Don't let that mine be their tomb.

alive or not, they should have a chance and let their families have closure. there is a device that can tell where hollows are in the earth and if there's a body in it. it uses radar or something. Mythbusters used it to see if they could find Hoffa and I've seen it in other shows to find things buried. maybe that would work. I just hope no more men have to die finding them.

We are talking about a mine that is miles underground and miles wide/long. I believe that they are doing what they can and the chance of these miners being alive still is very slim.
Take for instance the accident that occurred on Thursday where those three would be rescuers died and 6 were critically injured. Nobody walked out of that bump on their own two feet. So, lets say that the first 6 miners were met with the same bump and the walls of the mine also came crashing in flinging coal and debris directly at them. They are trapped in a cold, dark place, no food, no way to reach water because they are badly injured and a good possibility of very little air to breathe. How long do you think they would survive with that way of thinking?

I would like to also believe that these men are alive, but I fear that they will never be found. I also know how hard it is to not know for sure if they are dead or alive. What if they are alive and waiting and they call off the rescue and two years later they find their bodies and realize that they lived for a month. That would be hard to deal with.

I think that part of their equipment should be a personal locater device. If the company doesn't pay for one for the miner then it should be mandatory that they buy one themselves.

It amazes me how we can send people to the moon but yet we can't save the miners in Utah. Common sense would tell us all that these men are probably dead, but still the families need some closure. They shouldn't give up on retrieving the bodies so they can be given a proper burial. May God bless all these familes and the ones that lost their lives trying to save them. This is a true tragedy.

They will need a fresh air supply, warmth, food and fluid. Most of all they need hope ! Communicate with them.Cameras could be used ,similar to the ones that they use to find the tunnels and tombs in The Pyramids.
