Especially since we know that the Iraq war was never about terrorism or WMD's like originally stated.

What a good question :-)

So far, CHINA is playing for the Iraq War, and the USA is going deep into debt to them. This is the first time in history that a country has both gone to war AND cut taxes, and it's ridiculous. If Americans believe the war is important enough to fight, it should be important enough to pay some extra taxes toward until our soldiers come home. If we're not willing to pay extra taxes, then maybe we shouldn't be there....

Oh. Never mind.

Ok, try to stick to your question first and foremost. That whole statement about there was no reason to go to war is unimportant in answering this question, though I made a question myself on that topic. The question is, now that we're in the war, who will pay for it. Fact of the matter is, it's unlikely that any one president can pay for this. 8 years in office is likely not enough to stymie trillions of dollars of debt. What I believe is that we have to elect a president that can start to deal with that problem, as well as one who will stop it from growing.
Yes, this leads to me saying, we have to get out.
Practically no Republican candidate is even thinking along these lines. And few of them are proposing ideas to deal with the problems the deficit has created at home, with lost jobs and inflation issues. This is not to say that the Democratic party is tons better, not many of them are trying to solve these either, but at least there are some who have laid out ideas for dealing with both issues, Obama being one.

Its coming out of the current defense budget. Has been the whole time. And the defense budget hasn't gone up much. Oh and by the way, the federal government is getting record levels of tax revenue. Why? More jobs and more people paying taxes.

Seriously, none of this is hard to research. Pull your head out of the sand, ignore the liberal talking points for a day and you'll be fine.

Those who really pay are the little boys and girls whose fathers and mothers will never come home and the mothers and fathers who have to mourn the senseless deaths of their sons and daughters and the husbands and wives who will have to raise their children without their spouses...those are the real costs of this senseless war...human life is just not high up on the Bush agenda...

Who pays for everything the government wastes money on: Taxpayers.

Less generally, since the largest budget item - Social Security - is funded by regressive payroll taxes, the brunt of the cost of the war will be covered by current (and, due to borrowing) future income tax revenues. The income tax, of course, is progressive, which means that higher-income households will be paying for the war more in both absolute and proportionate terms, than lower-income ones.

Perhaps that makes you feel a little better about it?

Why isn't your question in the past tense? We're already paying for it! 3700 have paid with there lives and another 27000 are wounded while countless others are psychologically troubled.

Meanwhile, approximate 3 million conservatives of fighting age who support the war didn't fight in it. How nice for them.

It's very simple. Become self-employed, don't pay any taxes, and bankrupt the federal government. No more wars.
