Cacti! My poor friend, I don't know what to do. I can carry you to the vet, but I'm afraid of that place myself. Here's some catnip to numb the pain. I'll get you a nice fluffy pillow and some milk. Do you want me to try and pull the cactus off?
Edit: Ok, close your eyes! I'm going to try and pull the cactus out.

Much as I know a kitty wouldn't like to do it, go stick the whole thing in water (maybe the aquarium?) and let it soak. Then gently pull the spines out. See if your human will help.
