I have to give a presentation for a class. It is a group presentation and i will have to talk in front of alot of people. I have terrible stagefright that makes it almost impossible to stand up in front of class and talk for more than 30 seconds.

I always get really nervous and i cant stop thinking about having to get up in front of everyone. Its really stupid i must say. I dont really care what people think about me most of the time, but when i get in front of people, i get really nervous and i know everyone can tell. My whole body shakes, even my lips, so it makes talking difficult. Also, i get so nervous that my heart starts beating really fast and i feel like im going to pass out. The worst part is that my breathing gets all out of wack and i cant say more than a few words without running out of breath.

Whenever we have to give group presentations, i either have someone else present my work, or i talk for about 30 seconds before i feel as thought i cant procede.

is there something i can go to that would help me in this case? Like a class that is devoted to people like me that work on presentations and speeches and such?

I have awhile before we do this, so i have plenty of time to do something along these lines. Thanks

Keep in mind that you know more about the topic than the rest of the kids in the class and that they are going to be as nervous when it is their turn.

The main thing is to write out more or less what you are going to say way in advance of the talk. Then all by yourself at home read through that talk about a gazillion times. After a while you will realize that you really know what is in the talk and could say it just as well without reading it. Then write down a few key words about each thought on a few index cards. When you glance at the first card you will immediately recall what you have said over and over again on that part of the speech. As soon as you start to talk then the important parts will come from your lips very smoothly No reading and no worrying are involved.

The two other important things to go over and over on until you can say them slick as can be are the first few sentences and the last few sentences. If you stand up there and tell them your first few well-chosen sentences they will think of you as someone who started off great. When it is over and you say those well polished last sentences they will think of you as someone who ended up great. Odds are they will not remember a word or a hesitation anywhere else in your talk.

You need to think about the presentation shouldn't be long lengthed presentation, and think about the fact if you're nervous, you are increased to your mistakes and people would notice that. If you're focused on the presentation, most likely people wouldn't notice you but they would most likely notice your work. Likewise, think of yourself almost finished the presentation and the presentation shouldn't be too long, and continue with your presentation. You've mentioned you're also in a Group, and you're not alone presenting but others as well. Many people would notice your behavior if you're nervous and shake, and notice more of your behavior and eventually, many people would look at you rather than looking and paying attention at the presentation. Think about this. Hoping you'd do well and perform well would help you at most. Good luck.
