What do you mean in elementary school? I still make them. Some people put them on their Christmas tree. Or use them for a party...silver and gold,,,look great to hang around for a New Year's Eve Party....Pink and blue for a baby shower....

not in school, but I remember doing them at home with my sister to count down until Christmas. I plan on doing it with my son this Christmas starting on Dec. 1st he will get to tear off one ring, and on the inside is a good deed he has to do that month, or a chore. Kids need to learn that Christmas isn't just for presents it's about giving to others as well.

Yes. We used to have contests to see who could build the longest paper chains.

lol construction paper chains takes me wayyyyy back.. I kept making them, more and more.. at one time I think every room in the house had them.. and every person had a necklace made of them lol..

yes, for christmas. Also one time every class was competing against each other to buy the most links and all the money we raised went to some charity or something...it was really neat.

i remember there was always some hanging around in classroom but never knew where they came from. i did not make any. i guess the girls made them while the boys were outside starting fires with a magnifing glass.
