Why do you guys post questions that are loaded with hate-bombs and then get pissed about the answers? Do you really expect everyone (or for that matter - ANYONE) to agree with you?
I know I sure don't, and get my butt handed back to me on a platter on a regular basis! :)
But at least I try to respect what others think and not just throw inflammatory remarks at them. If I don't agree, I use sarcasm - which I think is less harmful (but that's just me).
Is this a "dish it but can't take it forum"?

It's directed at those who DO post hateful questions. If you don't - why get offended?

I appreciate that kendrick - I do. I guess when I say "you guys" I mean everyone.
Sorry - I guess I expect people who can't read my mind to know my lingo. :)

I am NOT a feminist. But I just want to understand why when I voice my opinion I am a "man-hater" or whatnot.
I'm not trying to change the world - just trying to pick your brain. It intrigues me.

No my dear lady this is not "dish it but can't take it forum".
The inability to open up to receive the other sides view is the root cause for all this.
There is amazing goodness and emotions here but with good comes the bad side as anywhere.

It does seem that some of the people that ask questions only want responses from people that have the same beliefs as their own. I think some of these people just like to cause controversy and others just want the attention. But, we are all opinionated and everyone will never agree on the questions asked. But, I agree with your point. Good question!!

sometimes you have to look past the apparent anger of the questioner and answer the root of what they are really trying to ask. that can backfire, of course, in a couple ways: some ARE trying merely to cause a stir and don't really want to consider any other viewpoint at all, and there's the danger of misinterpreting...
i think that is the only way to try & attempt to diffuse the "hate-bombs"--or at least keep them from causing a chain reaction resulting only in more hate. if you DO manage to respectfully disagree, and they STILL act that way, well, who's really won there?? the gracious example, or the stubborn hate monger?

I guess the people who do this (write in with hate-filled questions) actually do get enough positive reinforcement from others because they keep on doing it. As long as there are people who will actually "agree" with what they're saying (even if it's only one person!) they have motivation to go right on doing it. And unfortunately, there are several people on this forum that continually provide that kind of reinforcement.

All I can say, is start asking questions yourself that aren't
ill-favored towards men nor women. Disregard everyone else. (After re-reading my answer... the above statement is not an attack on you. Not stating you post ill-favored questions... just saying that you should start asking questions yourself that are purely gender neutral).
Example:
1) Where can I donate my time to helping battered spouses?
2) What gender-neutral human rights groups can I join, to make a difference?
3) Ask questions about gender neutral book lists, regarding gender issues(or some books men, and some women)?
4) How have women's roles in the Medical field evolved? Considering present and prior roles together, how have women contributed to Medicine?
5) Mathematics?
6) In what ways, have men contributed to the benefit of women? (medically, socially, ...). And women for men?
... and so on, including actual gender studies material that are gender neutral.
These types of questions that I've never actually have seen in this forum, is much better than male trolls, and the Man-hating Feminism Theorists.
You have a lot of homework and studying to do on this matter, Mel Blondie. I have full faith in you and your ability to contribute to the betterment of society.

Why post such hate-bombs in the first place?
And i ⥠â, what do you mean you don't post hate-bomb questions? You recently asked, but have since deleted, a question about a man kicking his pregnant girlfriend so badly that it kills her unborn child, and getting charged with infantacide. You don't see that as a hate-bomb question? Oh sure, you laugh it off by saying you were playing Devil's Advocate with the question, but who do you really think you're kidding with that justification?
Please everyone, why ask such mean-spirited questions in the first place?

They are not exactly the "brightest crayons in the box". They are clouded with hate and they are generic sheep that believe outdated stereotypes. I don't bother answering their questions, however I do read them if I need a good laugh.

It is for this reason that this section of yahoo answers is no longer of any value. "The He-Man Woman Haters Club" would have been more appropriate than yahoo renaming it to "gender and women's studies." It is also a reminder to us all that we still have a huge uphill battle before we can claim our generation was successful in obtaining equality of rights.
