how can i use wifi on windows 2000?

i have a compaq c508us and i cant get the wifi to work. i installed the drivers and it recognises it as a network adapter, but i cant choose which wifi to conect to

If you have a wireless modem/router, then you will want to View Available Wireless Networks and choose the one coming from your equipment. If you are out-and-about, then you should be able to connect to the public hotspots almost automatically.
